A Music Plus had a great time this past weekend DJ’ing apartment parties, sorority formals, high school proms, and even a fundraiser to adopt dogs. We also DJ’d a number of spring weddings, who were all so fortunate to have such lovely weather for their big day!
The runner up for this week’s best first dance song is Steady As We Go by Dave Matthews Band. This song is the perfect way for a groom to serenade his new bride, even if it is Dave Matthews doing the singing, and the lyrics couldn’t be more fitting- “troubles they may come and go, but good times never go; when the road gets rocky, girl, it’s steady as we go.” This song speaks in a tender tone of assurance, peace, and love- truly a perfect first dance song.
While this song might be perfect for some, the winner of this week’s best first dance song is Make You Feel My Love by Adele. It’s a classic love song originally written and recorded by Bob Dylan, but with the soothing and slightly soulful voice of Adele. We love the lines of the first verse: “when the evening shadows and the stars appear, and there is no one there to dry your tears, I could hold you for a million years, to make you feel my love.” This song is a steady promise to always be there, even when no one else is, no matter what it takes. It’s a delightful rendition of a timeless tune.
What do you think is the perfect first dance song?
